Los Angeles, California —
A homeless man passionately preaching on a deserted street corner has gone viral after a passing jogger recorded his heartfelt sermon — one delivered with no crowd, no microphone, and no sign of personal gain.
The man, later identified as Thomas “Preacher Tom” Grant, was filmed standing near an abandoned gas station quoting Scripture from memory, hands raised, eyes shut, tears streaming.
“He was talking about grace like it was food,” said Michelle Carter, the woman who filmed the clip. “Like he was feeding someone I couldn’t see.”
The 90-second video has been viewed over 2.3 million times, with comments pouring in from across the world. “I felt the Holy Spirit through the screen,” one viewer wrote.
Tom was later found at a local shelter. When asked why he preached alone, he said: “The street isn’t empty. God sees the angels, and sometimes, they need the Word too.”
A church has since offered him housing and a permanent position assisting in street outreach. “It’s not about the roof,” Tom said. “It’s about the Word finding its way into the cracks.”
