Child Draws Picture of Heaven with Details Matching NDE Accounts

Orlando, Florida — When 7-year-old Daniel Morse returned home from a near-death experience after a severe asthma attack, his parents were relieved to see their son alive. But they didn’t expect what would follow: a drawing of what he called “Heaven,” with vivid details that eerily matched adult accounts of near-death experiences.

Daniel had suffered a major respiratory failure while playing in the backyard. By the time paramedics arrived, his pulse was weak and fading. He was rushed to the hospital and resuscitated twice. During that time, doctors say, he was clinically unresponsive for three minutes.

A week later, while recovering, Daniel picked up his crayons and quietly began to draw. His mother, Trisha Morse, assumed he was sketching cartoons. But when she looked closer, she saw a golden staircase, blue fields of light, winged figures, and a beaming figure standing in the center.

“That’s Jesus,” he said simply. “He told me it wasn’t time yet.”

Stunned, Trisha and her husband showed the drawing to their pastor, who noted its striking resemblance to stories from adult NDE survivors — right down to the colors, presence of angelic choirs, and the sensation of “perfect peace.”

Daniel had never been exposed to such concepts, they say. He had attended church, but only at a child’s understanding. “We never talked about near-death experiences or Heaven in detail,” Trisha said.

What surprised them most was a detail Daniel couldn’t have known: the presence of his grandmother, who died before he was born. “She hugged me,” he said. “She smelled like flowers.”

Experts remain cautious, but theologians and psychologists alike have taken interest. “There’s no scientific way to validate a child’s spiritual experience,” said Dr. Linda Voss, a child psychiatrist. “But what’s compelling is how consistent his account is with documented adult NDEs.”

The drawing now hangs in the family’s living room. Daniel says he isn’t afraid of anything anymore. “Jesus told me I could come back, because I had things to do here. So I’m going to be kind to everyone. That’s my job.”
