Dallas, Texas — Hundreds of believers gathered for a lakeside baptism ceremony witnessed a breathtaking natural phenomenon as rain clouds formed a perfect cross in the sky — just as the first person stepped into the water.
Pastor Rick Johnson of LifeSpring Church had been preaching on “dying and rising with Christ” when a soft drizzle began. Then the clouds parted slightly — and the unmistakable form of a cross appeared overhead.
“It wasn’t subtle,” said one attendee. “It was bold. Sharp edges. Like Heaven drew it with a ruler.”
Photographers captured the moment, and the images went viral. Some even claim that light rays broke through the center, illuminating the water below.
Pastor Rick believes it was no coincidence. “It was God’s confirmation. As people went under the water, they looked up — and saw the cross.”
Over 70 people were baptized that day. Several spectators who came only to observe decided to enter the water themselves.
As the clouds faded and sun returned, the crowd remained in silent awe. “You didn’t want to leave,” said one woman. “It felt like the Lord was right there.”
