Yesterday, a small Orthodox church in the village of Kalambaka caught fire after a lightning strike hit its dome during a late evening storm. As firefighters arrived, witnesses claim they saw a glowing silhouette resembling a winged figure hovering within the smoke above the bell tower. The fire, which engulfed the roof, mysteriously stopped at the sanctuary walls — sparing all religious icons and the altar.
Multiple photos taken by locals show a faint outline in the smoke that many describe as angelic. “I fell to my knees,” said Maria K., a nearby resident. “There was heat, ash… and peace.” Authorities are investigating, while church officials call it “a visible reminder that Heaven still watches.”
