Christian Refugees in the Middle East Rebuild Faith and Community

Location: Beirut, Lebanon

After fleeing war and persecution in Syria and Iraq, Christian refugees in Lebanon are finding hope through underground churches and aid from global Christian charities. Organizations like Open Doors and World Vision have set up mobile clinics, education centers, and trauma-healing workshops for displaced believers.

In a Beirut suburb, a group of 30 families recently celebrated Easter together for the first time in a decade. “This small church reminds us that God has not forgotten us,” said Layla, a Syrian refugee and mother of three.

Despite facing poverty and instability, these communities continue to grow. International Christian networks are working to resettle believers, rebuild churches, and support long-term recovery with faith at the center.
