Christianity in Sub-Saharan Africa is growing at unprecedented rates, according to a recent Pew Research study. Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, and Ghana are leading a spiritual resurgence, marked by church planting, youth evangelism, and community development programs.
Mega-churches and local congregations alike are blending traditional worship with modern outreach methods, including social media evangelism and music festivals with gospel themes. “We are not just building churches; we’re building futures,” said Bishop Peter Kamau of Nairobi.
Missionary organizations now see Africa not only as a mission field but also as a missionary-sending region. African Christian leaders are increasingly being invited to speak in Europe and North America, a reversal of historical trends in global evangelism.
