A growing Christian youth movement in Brazil is making waves by promoting environmental stewardship as a form of faith in action. The group, called “Faith for Creation,” has mobilized thousands of young Christians to participate in tree-planting campaigns, beach cleanups, and conservation projects.
The movement is based on the belief that caring for the environment is a biblical responsibility, with many citing Genesis 2:15, which speaks about humanity’s duty to tend and keep the Earth. Leaders within the movement have partnered with churches to introduce eco-friendly initiatives, such as solar-powered worship centers and waste-reduction programs.
“We believe faith should be reflected in how we care for creation,” said Maria Fernanda, a youth leader. The movement has gained international recognition and is inspiring similar initiatives in other Christian communities worldwide.
