Jakarta, Indonesia — Religious leaders in Southeast Asia have launched the “Green Faith” initiative, a collaborative effort to combat deforestation and promote environmental stewardship. Churches, mosques, and temples are working together to plant millions of trees and educate communities on sustainable practices.
The initiative includes organizing tree-planting events, creating educational programs for youth, and lobbying governments for stricter environmental protections.
“Faith unites us in our responsibility to care for the earth,” said Imam Faisal Rahman, one of the initiative’s leaders. Since its launch, the program has planted over one million trees and sparked similar movements in neighboring countries.
