For the first time since World War II, the global Jewish population has surpassed 15 million, returning to pre-Holocaust levels. The milestone was announced by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics, noting that over 7 million Jews now live in Israel, while large communities remain in the United States, France, and Canada.
Despite challenges such as rising antisemitism in parts of the world, Jewish leaders see this as a moment of triumph and resilience. Rabbi Eli Goldstein, a historian at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, stated, “The Jewish people have endured unimaginable loss, yet here we stand—stronger, growing, and thriving.” Many synagogues and cultural centers have planned special events to commemorate the milestone.
