A group of Christian leaders and environmental activists has gathered in Kenya to address the pressing issue of climate change and environmental degradation from a biblical perspective. The summit, titled “Creation Care: A Christian Responsibility,” emphasized that protecting the environment is part of God’s command to be stewards of the Earth (Genesis 2:15).
Churches worldwide are now incorporating sustainability practices, including planting trees, reducing waste, and promoting clean energy. Many pastors are also integrating environmental teachings into their sermons, encouraging believers to take action against deforestation, pollution, and water scarcity.
“Our faith calls us to care for God’s creation,” said Bishop Samuel Njoroge, one of the conference speakers. “As Christians, we cannot remain silent when the very world God entrusted to us is suffering.” The movement has gained momentum, with churches partnering with environmental organizations to implement practical solutions.
