Archaeologists excavating the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem have uncovered evidence of ancient olive trees and grapevines dating back approximately 2,000 years. This discovery aligns with the New Testament verse John 19:41, which mentions a garden at the site of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion. Professor Francesca Stasolla from Sapienza University noted that the area transitioned from a quarry to agricultural use during the Roman period. The excavation also revealed artifacts spanning from the Iron Age to the Crusader era, underscoring the site’s historical and religious significance.
