Nairobi, Kenya — Amid growing concerns over drought and food insecurity in Africa, Christian charities have united to launch an unprecedented initiative, “Bread for All,” aimed at combating hunger in some of the continent’s most vulnerable regions.
The campaign brings together more than 50 organizations, including World Vision, Catholic Relief Services, and local church groups. Their collective goal is to distribute emergency food supplies, establish sustainable farming practices, and build water reservoirs in drought-stricken areas.
“We are answering God’s call to serve the hungry and care for the most vulnerable among us,” said Reverend Samuel Oloo, a campaign leader.
So far, the initiative has reached over 1 million people, providing vital nutrition to children and families. In addition to food aid, the campaign has launched educational programs teaching communities how to cultivate drought-resistant crops and manage water resources efficiently.
“The ultimate goal is not just to provide food but to empower these communities to achieve self-sufficiency,” said Sister Maria Teklemariam, a volunteer from Ethiopia.
The project has received widespread praise and significant financial support from international donors, with expansion plans underway to reach remote villages often overlooked by traditional aid programs.
